Introduction
Dzitya Town-houses is a residential project in northern Merida consisting of 16 beautifully designed town-houses that integrate into the surrounding natural environment, and prioritize living with nature.
With this concept, the designers at FORMM implemented a parametric design into the frontal double facade.
Allowing light to pass through at certain times of day, making the interior more energy efficient and allowing variety within the development.
Area: 3,000m
Height: 10.5m
Stage: Under Construction
Location: Merida Yucatan
Made in:2022
Role
At Formm we took responsibility in designing an innovative solution to a very common project within the city.
Highlights
Parametric Design :A translucent wall was designed parametrically with cement elements in order to let light in at different angles, thus reducing solar exposure and creating a dynamic balcony.
Indoor-Outdoor Shower: Meridian climate allowed us to create an indoor-outdoor oasis for the showers, allowing each shower to have a small private balcony filled with vegetation.
Local Materials: Sourcing from local producers is always a top priority for us at FORMM, so we proposed mostly finishes and materials available in the area. And sought to use as little paint as possible.
Evocative lighting: By strategically designing the lighting, and fining the ideal placement for each one, we are able to create dramatically different experiences during the day and during the night.
The Green Pledge: At FORMM we always believe the nature is always the best companion, thus we made sure that nature was as present as possible in the project, implementing balcony gardens and large trees where possible.
