At FORMM we accepted the challenge of creating something unheard off in the city of Merida, an experience like no other. With the right blend of detailed design, nature conservation, modern parametric techniques, we were able to develop a mesmerizing project that would no doubt, as a homage to its name… would be a landmark of the city.
Highlights
Parametric Exterior Structure: With the help of ASPD (Assisted Structural Parametric Design) we were able to reduce the amount of columns within our floor plan which not only increased our usability, but also opened up the floor plan, allowing natural light to reach far within the building.
Dynamic Shape: Landmarks shape is no accident, It staggers and rotates taking the best advantage of incoming winds and making sure that solar impact is minimized.
Design Meets Experience: Landmark is designed not only as a building, but as a community magnet, breaking the common practice of isolating massive developments and allowing the combination of uses, comercial, residential, entertainment, dining, and hotels to coexist and create a dynamic environment for the end user.
Public Private Park: At FORMM we look to craft experiences that not only serve themselves, but also benefits the community. That is why landmark has a massive public park in the centre, that perfectly blends the surrounding area with the project within.
